This design of an ammunition loader for KV-1S and its 76-mm F-34 gun was initially submitted to the inventions department of GABTU of the Red Army by engineer Captain G.V.Barabash in December 1942. It took him over a year to refine it with more detailed blueprints and specification documents, and he (already Major) resubmitted it in July of 1944. Unfortunately, by that time KV tanks (as well as the F-34 76-mm gun) went out of production. Nonetheless, in October 1946 Major Barabash did receive a patent for his design.
